So this article convinced me to try blood...and I still can't get the hang of it - what confused me is why it seems heart strike doesn't hit half the time (yes i'm hit capped =b); however, i saw a decrease in DPS even on single targets than my Unholy spec I roll w/.

...IDK, i felt like I was learnin to play a DK all over again =D

That's not true. Blood and unholy are pretty close atm, any time you switch spec you will always lose dps until you learn the intricacies of the build. Also blood and unholy dps need to gear differently. Unholy uses alot of shadow damage which ignores armor. Blood requires mucho armor pen to let its true colors shine. Holler at me in game sometime and we can talk about it if you'd like.

I'm not sure about your misses... we'll talk about that too lol
