| Hey guildies,
I have talked to many folks in-game, but I wanted to put it on our forums as well.
I told Carol today that Ian and I, and a bunch of guildies, want to help Carol with her computer issues. She's been part of the family for years, and has never asked for ANYTHING - either in-game or out. She's always been a wonderful addition to our WoW family, and we've missed her the past few weeks. Personally, I LOVE that she plays a totally different game from me. I play a min/max game, focusing on gameplay and raid/guild leading. Carol loves the world that the game is set in, and sees raiding as part of it. . . but a small part.
Anyway, Ian (packetloss) owns a business that builds and repairs computers (HLC Computers in Iowa). I got my rig from him, and I'm thrilled with it! He's going to get enough stuff together to build a Cata - capable rig for Carol. Here's where you come in. Budget. I would like some donations. Ian is going to have a PayPal account set up for us to collect. I think $400 would be about right. If we can get 10-20 guildies to pitch in $10-20 per person, a few of us would be able to handle the rest.
This is my christmas gift to the guild. I would like to give you all Carol back. Can you help?
Azanul and I are combining to pledge dollar for dollar however much you guys gather - up to $250. So - you give $250, we give $250.

| Could Rick and I in for a donation as well. We can sympathize with Carol and her computer issues as we have them too and are fortunate to have some friends helping us to get them up and running again. | |

| I really like this idea because all though i don't know her as well as most of you, she has always been willing to say hi whenever she logs on and is always cheerful. Not to mention she is 100% willing to run lowbies through whatever she is capable of doing. I was half tempted to just mail her my old rig as i never use it but i wasn't sure it was cata capable and had to run a few tests, but i do rather enjoy the sincerity behind this plan. Carol if you reading this, just know its a sad day when the green Redwarmwind doesnt show up on our screens. See you in game real soon. | |

| I also have spent WAY too much time on the game! (Don't we all?)
I am really, really touched, guys. This has been my longest hiatus from WoW since I first signed on, and it hasn't been voluntary. I joined Black Axe way back in December 2006, and from the very first I've been made welcome and felt like I was part of a family even when I was off in some obscure corner doing my own thing, even more so when joining a raid or doing something else with the guild. We aren't scoring world firsts and we don't always field a full team on a raid night, but we have some great people and great times together. The guild changes over time, but what never changes is that it's a friendly group that helps each other out.
Obviously, we've cobbled together another computer (that's how I'm posting) but this one can't handle WoW at all. Frankly, the result of signing on to WoW with this machine leads to some interesting graphic errors, the sort of phantasmagorias one normally has to consume expensive and illegal drugs to see. I'd take screen shots, but the machine locks up before I have the chance. I wasn't sure if my prior computer could handle Cat. I thought I might have to come here and tell ya'll I would have to shelve WoW until I could upgrade and now... 'scuze me, I've got something in my eye, they're watering for no reason all of a sudden....
So I thank you, and my husband thanks you because I won't be moping around the house. You guys are totally great!

| Totally put me in. I could also give a generous offerso Carol can have at least a better machine than "JUST" capable. Even just a little bit better will kepp her running longer. Carol has always been such a pleasant person to be around and always the most willing to help. Although i have done my fair share of disenchants for her haha and i always gave her back everything not ever taking a thing. Point is that she deserves to play and i can help bring a smile to someones face and help make their heart warm i am in so i would be happy to donate $100.
Carol we all love you and we hope you know this. You are a huge part of the family and not having you around is like missing an important person on a momentus occation.

| Members of BAC,
First of all, I would like to thank Jason for getting me involved in this. I have been taking a break from WOW, although voluntary to start my computer store, HLC Computers and when I heard Carol was in need of a PC so she could rejoin the BAC on our quest for glory I wanted to help. My break, I choose to do and it's killing me, I can only imagine not being able to play because of computer problems. This guild has always had a way of warming my heart and making me feel at home. This thread has made that obvious that others feel the same way. I'm very glad to know all of you. Carol, while I've haven't played with you much, your generosity has been a topic in many conversations about what is best about BAC.
Now the goodies, we have put together a great machine for Carol. It's a AMD Athlon X2 (Dual Core) with 3GB of DDR2 RAM. Brian (Wrothrok) has cleaned it up, we're going to install Windows 7 on it, and we've just ordered the 1GB PCIe video card, so this thing will be ready for the Cata! I will install WOW on the computer, so she just takes it out of the box and it's ready for gaming, all patches included!
So now is the time that we need all of your help! I've setup Paypal, and you can email iwalmsley@hlccomputers.com with your donation! Paypal allows you to donate without giving any of us your credit card, it's free, and fast!
You can use your account paypal and sendl your donation to iwalmsley@hlccomputers.com

| It's two weeks to Cata folks, and it's looking really good.
One last request, please tell your friends and guildies what we're doing. We're getting really close to our goal.
Thank you all for your donations and your support. I'm very Thankful that we really have friends online who care more about one another than about getting some loot. We always have said #1 Real life come first, #2 The goal is to have fun. I feel great that we're able to help Carol, so, personally, I hit both #1 and #2 there.
By the way, we need Carol in BAC for all those annoying guild achievements!!!

| I'm shuffling off to Buffalo tomorrow for a family visit, expect to be back at the end of the week.... which means I may still be off-line into the following week but never fear...
I SHALL RETURN!
(soon. I hope.)
I'll let Ian and Jason know when I get back so the computer can be safely shipped and received. Thanks again everyone.

| Thanks, dude.
Boy, did I pick the wrong week to go to Buffalo - thanks to a lake effect snow storm, they had people stranded for over 24 hours on a stretch of I-90. Fortunately, I got to my sister's house before that happened, but we started back home 2 days later than expected. All safe and snug now!
